Gal 4:4-6 But when the fullness of time had come, God sent forth His son, born of a woman, born under the law, to redeem those who were under the law, so that we might receive adoption as sons.
Reading this verse that I've read many times before, today this phrase jumped off the page to me. Wait, time has a fullness? Its never something I've thought about before. Time is a crescendo building in fullness until God, in His perfect timing, brings it to fruition. The puzzle pieces are being worked into place, the preparations are being made, the cup is being filled waiting for time to reach its fullness.
And this is no small thing. The verse describes the fullness of time with regards to our redemption. There was an exact time for us to be rescued. Not a moment too soon, not a second too late.
And if God so perfectly orchestrated the timing of Christ, there must also be a fullness of time for each part of the story He writes for me. Knowing that time cannot be rushed until it has reached its fullness provides an overwhelming sense of peace. God is intentional about the precise timing of all things. Time is out of my hands and completely in His. Be patient and wait until the fullness of time has come.
